Make sure that you contact City Hall when you are moving into the community.  An application for services needs to be completed before the City can provide utility services.  If you are renting, the City requires a $50.00 meter deposit.  You can apply for a post office box by stopping at the Wellsburg Post Office (500 N. Adams)

Gas and electric service can be connected by calling Alliant Energy at 800-255-4268.

Telephone service is provided by Windstream 866-445-5880.

The City provides water, sewer and garbage service.  City utilities are billed on the 10th of the month and due on the 20th. 

• Water - Service is furnished per 100 cubic feet of water used, with a minimum monthly charge.  Water meters are read monthly.

• Sewer - Each customer shall pay sewer service charges in the amount of 100% of the bill for water and water service.

• Garbage - The fee for solid waste collection and disposal service is per household per month for 2 bags of solid waste per week.  Any additional bags of solid waste shall require a sticker to be affixed at a cost per sticker.  All waste shall be in bags not to exceed 40 lbs.  Stickers can be purchased at City Hall.

• Curbside recycling is the first Tuesday of the month.  All recycling can be co-mingled.  We are unable to recycle glass and styrofoam

• Open burning of paper products is allowed on Wednesday and Saturday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
