Honoring Those Who Have Served, and the Sacrifices They Made.
The Wellsburg Veteran's Memorial was dedicated in honor of the many hometown heroes who have risked their lives so that we may continue to enjoy our freedoms. As these men and women have grown up serving as the lifeblood of our community, they then ventured into the world to become the lifeblood of an ever-strenghtening nation. In order to preserve the memory of what these men and women have done for American Freedom, the community members banded together to design, finance, and dedicate a remarkable memorial. Tablets in the memorial have been created for each branch of the service: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and the Coast Guard.
As the many veterans who selflessly served this great nation and did not think of the ultimate cost, neither did the committee as they worked to create a memorial in these soldier's honor. All funds for the project were raised through generous financial donations and gifts.
